Maryland gentleman arrested after threatening mass violence at elementary university, authorities say

A Maryland man has been arrested soon after building a number of threats of mass violence in opposition to an elementary school and a local company, authorities mentioned Wednesday. 

Earl Benjamin Washington, 46, of Lexington Park, was arrested in St. Mary’s County, the Charles County Sheriff’s Office environment explained. 

On Tuesday, Washington identified as a business in White Plains and Gale-Bailey Elementary Faculty and created violent threats, authorities claimed.

“The phone calls to the unique places are associated to people today he knows and is believed to be domestic-associated,” the sheriff’s business office mentioned. 

The threats arrived on the same day an 18-year-previous gunman killed 21 folks at a Uvalde, Texas elementary school, together with 19 children. In response, the Charles County Sheriff’s Office environment said it will improve its existence at space schools for the remainder of the university 12 months. 

“Although there is no distinct risk to our educational facilities at this time, officers will be there to give assistance, consolation, and safety for our students and staff. We are with you all,” the sheriff’s office explained.
