9/11 training need to ‘avoid putting blame,’ leave out ‘gruesome’ facts, university pupils say

9/11 education should “prevent putting blame” and depart out the “ugly specifics” of that fateful working day so as not to direct to intense nationalism, according to some faculty pupils.

Learners from the University of Florida spoke with Campus Reform not long ago to share their viewpoints on how 9/11 need to be taught.

Amid their solutions was to stay clear of the discussion altogether of who was liable for the terrorist attacks. Others reported the plan of American exceptionalism shouldn’t be mentioned at all in lessons.

According to a single scholar, American exceptionalism is “rooted in a ton of colonialist and imperialist notions of how we should really address other people today.”

Their responses occur soon after fewer than two weeks after the Virginia Office of Education and learning (VDOE) posted a video on YouTube that trains academics to instruct learners about American exceptionalism in the course of lessons on the Sept. 11, 2001 assaults.
